“A Night in Colors” Arts Competition

by Teach For Lebanon - Jun 29,2022

Here at Teach For Lebanon, we believe that lessons are not only taught by words but also through art. In April 2022, and in alliance with our 1001 Nights project, we were excited to offer our partner schools with their students from grades 3 to 6, the chance to participate in our "A Night in Colors" arts competition, to showcase their artistic abilities by submitting either a drawing or a theatrical play portraying one moral value either learned or new and inspired by the 1001 Nights project.

We collected submissions from across TFL’s partner schools and from the Catholic Network Schools (CSN). Out of the 18 school submissions, our jury, which includes the 1001 Nights team and the arts advisor, selected 6 school submissions and 10 individual student projects as winners of this competition.

The 6 schools from TFL and CSN schools that won the competition are Al Nahda Pour Filles, Kousba For Boys, Kfarhazir, Deir Nbouh, SSCC Tripoli, and Ecole Notre Dame Du Rocher Ajaltoun.

As for the 10 individual winners, the appointed jury selected Claritta Hadchity from Lady of Zalzaleh School, Misan Al Khaled from Toyoor El Amal School, Fabien Al Rahbany from Mayfouq Monastery School, Amir Jaber and Aline Harb from SSCC Ain Ebel, Angela Rhayem from SSCC Jezzine, Malak Tauk from St Joseph Bcharre, Angelina Bou Karam from College St Pierre Baskinta, Rayan Abou Zgheib from Ecole Notre Dame des Dons and Anabella Watar from SSCC Batroun.

The winners received certificates of participation as well as gifts from HOLDAL Group. Each school winner received 15 units that include pencil cases, coloring crayons, and pens, and each individual winner will receive a school bag and a pencil case.

Congratulations to all winners and a big bravo to all schools and students that participated in this competition!
